Lift and look. Bed bugs tend to settle in close proximity to their food source – you. Bedbug bites can leave itchy, bloody welts on the skin and can cause allergic reactions, such as severe itching. They are flat, reddish-brown oval insects about 6mm long or the size of an apple seed. They get swollen and reddish after a blood meal. Large infestations can be detected by a sweet smell like that of soda-pop syrup. They leave behind brown or red spots on sheets. Their habitat is in cracks and crevices including mattress seams, sheets, furniture, behind baseboards, electrical outlet plates and picture frames. Often found in hotels and public transporters where they can travel from room to room and in passengers’ luggage.

Preventive measures and controls

a) Avoid unhygienic public places, public transport vehicles and hotels.

b) Carefully inspect the hotel’s luggage rack before using it to keep your suitcase if there are no signs of bedbugs on it.

c) Examine your luggage once you return home, to ensure you haven’t picked up unwelcome visitors.

d) If you see the signs in your cloths and bedding, fetch it to sun-scold.

e) The linen should be washed in hot water and detergent, and you should vacuum the carpet edges, the floor cracks, the mattress, the base-boards and also the switch plates, not to mention the furniture.

f) Professional help is out there – use it! Because bedbugs can survive extreme temperatures and are extremely difficult to kill.

Rodents are relentless. Rats and mice can squeeze through holes of the size of their teeth. Rodents (and the fleas they carry) can contaminate food and transmit harmful diseases. Rats are primarily nocturnal in habit and they are very cautious. They are constantly exploring their surroundings and shy away from new objects & change. Rats eat anything, but never fruits, vegetable and cereals. If they find that a particular food material proves disagreeable, they are quick to develop food/bait shyness. Some important things to remember are: (a) Rats defecate where they spend most of their time. Use the droppings as an indication to concentrate the control effort. (b) Rats travel 100-150 ft for food/water along established paths. Look for rub/swing marks.

Preventive measures and controls

a) Eliminate entry points.

b) Seal or repair cracks in siding, faulty door/window screens and gaps around pipes entering the home.

c) Trim branches, plants and bushes away from your home.

d) If you spot a rodent, hire a professional pest control provider who practices Integrated Pest Management immediately.

e) Control methods include Toxic/Non toxic Tracking Powder, Baits, Traps, Glue Boards along established pathways, Gassing (fumigating) of burrows.

Till the time you notice them, 80% of damage already would have posed by them. Signs of a termite infestation are difficult to spot, and many termites even tunnel hundreds of feet to reach a home or feeding site. They will sometimes eat away the wooden and concrete structures in a house leaving the paint work intact. They live in colonies underground, from which they build tunnels in search of food; able to reach food above the level of the ground by building mud tubes; dependent on moisture for survival. Their main diet consists of Wood and other cellulose material. Termites rarely expose themselves to light. They Cause more damage to homes in India than storms and fire combined. Termite Colonies can contain up to 1,000,000 members.

Preventive measures and controls

a) If you notice standing water problems in the yard after it rains, get these dealt with. Keep as much of the soil dry as possible

b) Remove the stack wood against the side of the house if any. This may invite termites, as the woodpile is a great source of food.

c) Keep bushes that are next to the home pruned to avoid easy access to your siding.

d) Wood structures in the yard should not touch to the soil. This is best done with concrete as it will stay relatively free from moisture.

e) It is still a good idea to have regular termite inspections from a trusted company. A regular inspection will find any problems at the earliest stages helping you save more money as massive damage will not be caused.

Red ants can create nuisance for babies and younger’s by bite and infections thereafter. They can pose a disgust feel if noticed in food articles. Ants generally feed on protein-rich and sugar-containing substances. Since they like warmth, colonies only occur in warm places. They are also a hazard in commercial kitchens, bakeries, etc. An itch followed by reddish swelling on your skin may be an incidence of red ant bite.

Preventive measures and controls

a) Seal up all cracks and holes in walls

b) Get rid of the targets of the ant routes (for example food and waste)

c) Pour boiling water over the nests

When to call and How to Select a Professional Pest Control Operator?             (TOP)
When most people discover a pest problem, they want the pest eliminated immediately so one must select a competent, reasonably-priced Professional Pest Control operator (or Pest Control Service Provider).

When Selecting a Professional Pest Control service:

• Ask your friends and neighbors for references; can they recommend someone who has provided them effective and satisfactory service?

• Be cautious of operators who come to your premises uninvited and offer to give your house a free inspection for pests. They may try to scare you into going in for immediate and costly treatments.

• Don't be hasty in making a decision. Since you will be paying for professional knowledge & skill, look for someone who has the right attributes.

• Ask questions about the pest problem, treatment to be done, products to be used, etc., that will help you getting a better understanding of the caliber and competence of the company’s representative.

• If the treatment requires a large amount of money to be paid, get offers from several pest management companies.

• Before signing any contract, be sure you completely understand the nature of the pest problem, the extent of the infestation and the treatment required to solve the problem.

• In case a warranty is given, understand what it covers, the duration, what you must do to keep it in force and what kind of continuing control, prevention and management are necessary.

In addition to the above, ask the representative the following questions:

"How many years have you been in business at your present location?"

"Would you provide me with a list of references?"

"Will the person implementing the services have undergone training in the effective use of the same?”

Beware of Firms or Individuals that . . .

Offer you a “special price” if treatment is done immediately

Do not have a listed or working telephone number

Sell services door-to-door and where the operating firm’s name is unheard of

Claim to have a special "secret” formula. Secret formulas are illegal: all pesticide products must be registered by the Central Insecticides Board (CIB) for the specific purpose.

Claim to have excess material left from a previous job and offer a reduced price for immediate treatment.

Buy Value, not Price. Sometimes, the least expensive price may not be your best bargain. Knowing when to call an expert is important. Modern pest professionals first identify the offending pest and then structure an effective program to control, monitor and manage the problem. Be sure the professional you hire can assure you that they can solve your problems without harming your health or the environment.

How long it will take to complete the treatment ?                                                               (TOP)
Depending on the size and issues to be handled, the time required for an average treatment can vary from half an hour to two hours. Rarely may it go beyond two hours.

What preparation we need to do till the arrival of DEBUG man ?
In case of bedbug issue, nothing you need to do more than disbanding and emptying your bed if it is of that type. In other cases, you need not bother about preparations. DEBUG man will take care of the whole operations whatsoever.

Is it harmful for children and elderly ? Will we have to close our home for hours ?
Herbal gel, specially meant for cockroaches and few other crawling insects is composed of some herbal oils like eucalyptus and citronella and in a very low quantity of febronil i.e. 0.01%. Febronil is insecticide witch acts on the nervous system of octopod insects only. So it does not pose any harm even if swallowed a drop or two by pets or babies. Chemical spray for bedbugs, spiders and other insects are needed utmost care while application. Pets, aged family members and Children should not move around at least three to four hours after the application. It will give good result if you leave the house closed after chemical spray.

Do we need to remove the utensils and all ?
No, you need not. Our herbal gel treatment is hassle free, safe and easy for application.

What is your procedure for the Cockroach and Bedbug control ?                        (TOP)
For Cockroaches, You can use conventional methods like sprayers available in the market to kill the cockroaches. But after few days, they again reappear due to the hatching of eggs being laid by them. For absolute eradication, we use gel bait composed of oils and food ingredients which attracts them. This gel is odorless and acts as slow poison to avoid bait shyness among other cockroaches. By cascading effect other cockroaches get attracted towards the bait and fall pray. They start dying within 24 to 48 hrs in their hiding places. Due to this, you will notice very few dead cockroaches in open areas. In the mean time, cockroaches pass their excreta which contain secondary poison. Baby cockroaches feed on poisoned excreta and debris of dead cockroaches. Thus baby cockroaches start dying before they develop egg laying capacity and stop reproducing.

To prevent entry of cockroaches form neighboring houses, we slot in chemicals in drainage lines through sink pipe, wash basin, toilet and bathroom holes. In case of severe infestation of cockroaches we do use kerosene base chemical spray followed by herbal gel treatment within two to three days.

Bedbugs are not easy to kill by any other mean than chemical spray and injections. It is essential to go for a proper Bedbug management program with specific number of spray treatments in a particular span of time. Eggs of the bedbugs are safeguarded with gelatin layers which sustain any kind of blow including chemical spray. First treatment will inhibit the activities of adult bedbugs. Most of them will be killed. Some of them remained behind will lose their capacity to fertilize and prick to suck.

Why two treatments are essential to control bedbug issue ?
After first treatment, it is possible that you will find more bedbugs than earlier though very few of them are alive. This is because the places where these tiny bugs used to hide will smell due to chemical spray and make it difficult for them to hide. In such cases you are advised not to get panic and wait for another couple of days. By any ways these bugs will try to enter into hiding places in the day time and will get ceased by the chemical effect. If you find the situation more irritating even after two days, then you can call us to schedule the second treatment.

It is very necessary to schedule a treatment after ten to twelve days even if you do not observe any bedbug activity. The incubation period of the bedbug eggs is of 10 days and they take another 15 days for the larvae coming out of eggs to develop egg laying capacity. We need to kill them before this to avoid recurring problem.

Every additional treatment within this span will attract 50% extra charge. Treatment after 10 days is mandatory to validate the warranty of further period.

Can we use our kitchen immediately ?                                                                                        (TOP)
Yes, you can.
But you cannot use your bed at least for four hours if treated for bedbug’s issue.

Can we remove the gel after some time ?
As the gel is applied in the hiding and feeding places of cockroaches and other crawling pests, most of the time it will not come into sight. It remains effective for two to three months. Hence for long-term results, do not remove the gel.

What is the guarantee ?
For issues like cockroaches, we do give the warranty from three to six months. For other pests, the warranty varies a lot. In case of flying insects like mosquitoes, though we give the guarantee of one month, few simple steps are expected to be followed by the customers.

In how many days we can expect the results ?
Even though chemical treatment starts its effect from the moment of application, we can expect the results within 48 to 72 hours. Herbal gel treatment begins to work from the first night after the application. Cockroaches start dying from the next day and get nullified within five days of application.

What if the problem occurs again ?
If you are not completely satisfied within 7 days of program treatments, we will provide another service at free of cost. There will be no charge for callbacks. This service will not include any wood destroying or flying insects (other than wasp). In AMC deal and within the warranty period of all single casual treatments, we are committed to provide free service until the eradication of issues.

Do you have 24X7 customer care number ?                                                         (TOP)
Yes, you can call; message or mail to the contacts given in the contact details and your query or grievance will be resolved within 24 to 48 hours.
